The aim of the Yorkshire Dales Challenge Weekend is to walk the Yorkshire 3 Peaks then the Wharfedale 3 Peaks the following day.
The Yorkshire 3 Peaks
The Yorkshire 3 Peaks are Pen y Ghent, Whernside and Inglebrough which we aim to walk in 12 hours. The total distance is 24 miles with 1600 meters of ascent. You’ll burn up to 7,000 calories and lose 3 to 5 litres of fluid.
The Wharfedale 3 Peaks
The Wharfedale 3 Peaks are Great Whernside, Buckden Pike and Firth Fell. We aim to walk the Wharfedale 3 Peaks in ten hours with a total distance is 18 miles. You’ll burn up to 5,000 calories during the day and lose 3-4 litres of fluid.
The cost is £ 100 per person.
From each booking Northern Guiding will donate £5 to the local Mountain Rescue Team.
Yorkshire Dales Challenge Weekend Itinerary
Northern Guiding can put a package together that includes 2 nights self catering hostel accommodation and transport to/from your walk. We maybe able to arrange meals upon request but this would come at an additional cost.
On this event you will not get lost as it’s fully guided by a mountain leader.
On the Saturday we will meet at Ribblehead, climb Whernside, then onto Inglebrough, walk into Horton, then Climb Pen y Ghent. There is a train station where people can get a train back to Ribblehead if you wish.
On the Sunday we will meet in Kettlewell, climb Great Whernside then Buckden Pike before dropping down to Buckden. We then climb Firth Fell before heading back to Kettlewell.
