Northern Guiding is run by Mark Killala,I have walked all over the UK, my favourite places are the Yorkshire Dales and the Lakes District I have also done numerous long distance paths like the Coast to Coast my favourite being the Pennine Way I am is very experienced in the outdoors.
I got into the outdoors in my childhood since then I have had a passion for the outdoors this passion led me to do the Mountain Leader Training course in 2011 in Wales then i took the mountain leader assessment in 2012 which took place in the Lakes/Dales I really enjoyed the mountain leader training/assessment I found it to be hardest thing have ever done with the night navtigation taking place in the toughest conditions I have has ever come across. I took a lot of pride and satisfaction in passing it was the best thing I had ever done.
I have the summer mountain leader award as well as first aid qualified, I have insurance as well as being DBS checked, I have also attended a expedition leadership course along with a of site safety management course.
I am currently working towards the Winter mountain leader award and I have plans to do other courses and qualifications, in September 2015 I became an assessor for the Duke of Edinburgh Award so I can assess Bronze, Silver and Gold expeditions, my aim is to expand Northern Guiding.
I have done commercial leading for companies such as the coast to coast walk, Yorkshire 3 peaks.Have led walks local walking club.I am a member of professional organisations such as Mountain Leader Training, BMC and the RA
Most of the time all of the events listed on the calendar pages will be led by me with the help of hand picked instructor’s, the Scottish winter hill skills course will be led by a winter mountain leader hand picked by me
